Microsoft Windows 10 or later.
Naitiv App - Download from the website and go through the setup steps.
Once you open the app, you must first make sure that all of your audio inputs/outputs are set up correctly on your desktop computer in order for the app to hear your voice and/or the voices of others.
It is recommended that you use your headphones while using Naitiv.
We have two modes for interpretation: Online and In-person
This is your physical microphone, the same one that you would normally use to talk to people. Make sure you set this correctly, or the app won’t be able to hear you.
This is optional. Set this to your physical speakers/headphones so you can hear what your Guest is saying.
This is where text-to-speech (from what you are saying that was interpreted) will output. If you’ve installed VB Audio Cable, you should see an option in the dropdown menu with this option:
*Line (VB-Audio Virtual Cable*
Others will hear you through this “virtual microphone”. In your desktop app (Zoom, Teams, etc.) you’ll set this as your microphone!
You will want to switch the “microphone source” in your program to VB-Audio Cable, so that people can hear Naitiv’s speech.
On Zoom for example, the menu that will allow you to select the VB Audio Cable as the microphone can be found by clicking the options arrow by the microphone icon.
Set Your Microphone
and your Guest Microphone
to your device’s microphone or any separate device that you might use.
Set Guest Audio Output
and Your Audio Output
to two different headphones so that both you and your Guest can hear the interpretation separately
Note: For in-person Mode make sure you have checked Automatic Language Detection
on; and turned off Let Others Hear My Original Voice
Select your native language. Make sure to pick the dialect as well (i.e. English).
The language that you want to understand, and have your words translated into.
If you do not want to do any translation and just use the chatbot/voice enhancement feature, then set “Their Language” to match “Your Language”
